True Beauty set #1

Some online friends and I are using the True Beauty set from the Angel Company to submit to magazines for publishing. There's a few finishing touches that I still will add before submitting, but here's what they look like so far.
This card is 4" square and followed the sketch on The Pixie Cottage. I used all cardstock from DCWV Fun in the Sun Summer Cardstock Stack. I distressed the edges of the cardstock with my Heidi Swapp edge distresser. I colored the image with colored pencils except the butterfly and the flowers at the top were colored with cheap waxy crayons (my son's stash) and blended with OMS and a q-tip (couldn't easily find my blending stump so grabbed one of the q-tips I keep for chalks). The flowers came from Oriental Trading Company and were attached with Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive.

This card is also using DCWV Fun in the Sun except the small bit of orange stripe paper - that one is Creative Memories. The ribbon came from Oriental Trading Company grab bag. The foam butterflies came from a package of foam bugs that I got at Walmart. They were a bright yellow but I took Mango ink from Memories TM to change the color to look more like the colors in the card. This card is following the sketch provided by Sweet Sketch Wednesday that I got off my friend Lisa's blog. I used my Prisma markers to color this butterfly image.


This last card has light green and light blue cardstock from DCWV again but the printed green and blue stripe papers came from Creative Memories. The card is following the sketch at Prairie Paper and Ink. I faux stitched the teal stitches around the solid blue circle. The big brads came from Oriental Trading Company. This image was also colored with colored pencils and the purple edges under the the postage stamp were colored with Bic marker.
