birthday card

My card for my nephew featuring Miki the Monkey from Sewn Together. I used my atYou Spica glitter markers to color the cake and colored pencils to color Miki. Inside is the stamped sentiment but since this is for a 12 year old boy, I kept the outside plain (ribbons and flowers just didn't seem appropriate )

I colored this past Friday Freebie with my colored pencils. I also added some atYou Spica clear glitter marker to the skinny stripes.

Merry Christmas everyone.

Doodle Beans

For my card, I colored the girls in colored pencils, ran a light aqua cardstock thru my cuttlebug using the Herringbone folder then ran a dark aqua stamp pad over the raised embossing.

Doodle Beans Digital Stamps has a growing number of stamps for use in card making, crafts and scrapbooking. The images are unique and fun (see the "friends" one above), and designer Randa Clay hopes you'll find them to be useful for all kinds of occasions and projects! Be sure to check out Doodle Beans Digital Stamps, our sponsor for December.

Sewn Together Challenge #17

Make a project using only red- you can use any color for the image, but everything else should be Red. I tried to not use anything but red but there's those tiny white dots in the ribbon - I'll just claim that it is snow for the snow man. LOL I took a dark red cardstock for my base and embossed it with the Holiday Ribbons embossing folder. I took a lighter piece of red paper and embossed it with the same folder. The snowman (Angela's design) was colored with Bic Markers - two shades of blue to off set the red. I will be using these for thank you cards for Christmas presents received since I have several more store bought cards to use up.

Be sure to sign up for the newsletter (link on the side) to get the free friday images. Also check out the rest of the design team's take on the red theme. Angela, Deanette, Donna, Georgia, Jeri, Julie, Kim, Mary S., Sarabeth, Shelia, Sherry, & Trish

birthday card

My neice's second birthday was last Wendesday and this is the card I made/sent to her. I had found the image last summer and colored it with my Bic markers. All I had to do was slap it on the card front, write the message and mail it (I already had sent her gift when I saw her last).

MIB Christmas 2009 Ornaments

Scrappy Frogs had a challenge to create a Christmas Home Decor object, something you could use to decorate your house, or give to someone else, to decorate for the holidays. I was going to show what I made for my DH and a couple of his co-workers for a contest (I didn't win). Everyone was given a ball and told to decorate it anyway they wanted. I don't know who voted, but the winner got a half-day of vacation.

This is the one I made for John...I call it simple elegance. The red ball was was taped with the red double sided sticky tape and I took tiny green beads/marbles and mashed them on the tape (not easy on a round object). Then I glued single crystals in the center of each wedge.

The one I made for a female co-worker. I used Accent Essentals as a glue to glue the flowers and the glitter.

And this one is made for a Harley enthusiast. I used foam acrylic paint to glue a paper picture of the motorcycle and to paint the snowman.

Sewn Together Challenge #16

Make a project with a winter theme:
I love "easy" requirements like this. I had been wanting to try this technique for a while now and now I could finally try it out. I tore up a foil gift wrap sample into pieces and glued the pieces down. Then I took a PJ penguin image, and colored it with my Prisma and Bic markers. I printed a second copy the same size on velum for the globe and cut everything out so that PJ would show up but the light blue background would hopefully look more globe-like.

Hope you like my card and be sure to check out what everyone else has made: Angela, Deanette, Donna, Georgia, Jeri, Julie, Kim, Mary S., Sarabeth, Shelia, Sherry, & Trish
