But, before you go, you should see the card I made with Fawn and the Easter Egg.

I printed out Fawn first on regular white cardstock then again on my pink paisley printed paper. This gave me eggs the same size so I could cut out the paisley eggs and glue them over the white eggs. I chose to keep Fawn larger than I normally do so I could use matte accents on the jelly beans and make them seem real (you should feel each bump of a bean - they seem so real!) I used pastel sticker letters that came from Dollar General to make my "Happy Easter" greeting.

I got the poem from Free Crafts and Games I matted it in more of the pink paisley paper leaving room on the right side for some greeting or signature.

Distressed Friday Freebie Butterfly and Sunflower

I'm following a sketch :

so I tore top edge of my patterned paper, used the sunflower from Tiffany's blog, and added Sew Many Card's new Friday Freebie - a butterfly. I colored the butterfly and sunflower with colored pencils (RoseArt Golden Bronze; Crayola Burgundy, Blue, Gray, Yellow, and Heat Wave) then cut them out leaving a white border edge. Sometimes simple is better...esp. if you want to mail it (I worry about lumpy 'n' bumpy tearing the envelopes).

Time for another create card sketch

Time for another Create-A-Card Sketch. First the sketch.
And this is what I came up with...a note card.

I used Sew Many Card's Mittens to create this frosty card. Northern Missouri (where I grew up and where my Mom still is) got 8 inches of snow yesterday so it's still appropriate mitten weather! (I have something I need to mail to Mom so I'll include it in the note card.) I changed the three bouquets to two pair of mittens and made them "dangle" from the top piece. I colored them with my alcohol markers and used the markers to also put the faux stitching border.

What I did this weekend

I know I often make cards, but this was a craft of necessity. My watch band broke a couple of weeks ago and I've been using a ribbon to tie it to my wrist. I saw a link for watch bands by a company called ChunkyBlings. I was going to buy one when I got paid, but then I thought "I can make one myself." Hobby Lobby had beads on sale this week so Saturday/yesterday I got a couple of strands (one on clearance and one that was 50% off the full price - there was a difference, one was "clear" and the other has an iridescence to it [they have a rainbow effect] so I alternated the clear with the others). It turned out to be a little long so it makes the watch itself flop around my wrist.

I was searching for card challenges and I saw this new (to me) challenge blog called Stampin' Sisters in Christ that wanted to see projects with "time pieces. Can't get more of a time piece than a watch. LOL Now I do have some more beads to make bracelets so I'll spend some time making them but I really need to be making more cards...I've got a lot of sketches to take care of.

Sew Many Cards Challenge #2.2

That's the card sketch Jeri came up with for us to follow...

And here's what I did...

I got my color inspiration from Scrapmasters Paradise Color Combo to use "Green Galore", "Only Orange", and "Summer Sun". Cupcake Craft wanted to Keep it Simple so it doesn't have a lot of ribbon, or flowers and such. I did run it thru my Cuttlebug using the Swirls folder. I have Hearts in my Sew Many Cards image (today's Friday Freebie so be sure to get it) so I can also enter it into Forever Friends challenge.

Personal Challenge:A week of cards #4,5,&6

I didn't get a card posted yesterday,

I'll make it up by posting THREE birthday cards!
Now don't get too excited,
because they are simple & easy sketches.
You should try the too.I used images that had been stamped from a swap I participated in a few years ago
so I don't know makers and such of these images.

This card is easy although I could have done a little bit of
dry embossing with my Cuttlebug on the vertical yellow piece to make it more special.
I colored the cupcake (that was stamped in yellow)
with colored pencils
then used my Colorless Blender marker that I got
brown ink on the nib
(I tried to use it as an eraser on a piece of plastic
so I needed to get the brown ink out of the marker tip)
I wrote the HAPPY BIRTHDAY in pencil first then used a fine tip marker over it.

This one literally used scraps of paper and cardstock to make it. I used polka dot paper so it qualifies it for Totally Paper Craft's SPOT challenge.
Again I do not know the maker of the stamp that was stamped in blue ink.

This one took a little more time because of the extra pieces and wanting to coordinate my paper choices. I colored the cupcake (same as first card) with my alcohol markers then used matte accents on the sprinkles, candle and flame, and the cupcake wrapper part. I inked the circle with a darker green, and used a "scrap" of green printed paper (it's the back side of the golden paper). The bottom left triangle is from K&Company Citronella pack while the top orange triangle is from DCWV Fun in the Summer Sun pack.

CAC sketch 2/16 - spring card

I took this sketch,

and the spring card (as in B O I N N N G!!! not the season) directions on SplitCoastStampers to make this card

I used a paisley like paper cardstock from BasicGrey Sultry pack, purple from an 8x8 pack that I don't have the name for, brown ink on all edges for distressing (Little Paper Shop), flowers from Prima Daisy Carzy and the image from Motivet (even though it isn't Sewn Together, it is a cat and I can't pass them up). I colored the kitty for Aly's Sunday Challenge with my alcohol markers and the center of the flower is a dot of Matte Accents. I'm also submitting this for All Sorts Challenge: 1,2,3 of what ever you choose...I have 1 image, 2 flowers, 3 rings/circles.

Personal Goal: A week of cards: #2 Owl card

I followed another sketch but it's in a word document and not a JPG so I can't show the sketch. :(

I chose to do an Owl card when I saw this post on High Hopes Stamps. I usually don't do requests like this but this time I thought I could and therefore should. I tried to use the SPCC: Color Combo but my first "Bermuda Blue" cardstock approximation didn't look so blue next to the purple base so I tried a different shade in the stars. I used some glittery cardstock from the Fall collection of DCWV Mat Stacks to punch stars using my Creative Memories punches. The owl is a Sew Many Cards image so it's qualified for C.R.A.F.T's digital challenge.
