Croa-kee, Croa-kee

My title is inspired by Dora the Explorer and the little frog song they sing. It makes for a more interesting title, but I'm not sure that I spelled it correctly. LOLFirst I used this sketch and The Wildflower Patch wanted a monochromatic card (sorry I don't do pink frogs - LOL-and besides, it's the natural flesh tone of frogs so if natural human flesh tones are ok for monochromatic then I think green froggies are allowed - LOL) I chose to do one of Sew Many Card's frogs because I saw this post at

Hope you like it. Thank you for looking.

June SMC Blog Hop

First some personal news...SCHOOL'S OUT!!! I have a lot of things to accomplish this summer before August. Hopefully the rain won't come and stick around again like it did for the past couple of weeks. My internet is through a satellite so when I have heavy rain clouds blocking my signal I can't post to my blog, visit other blogs or links, or read my email (Thank goodness I had worked ahead and posted some of the stuff to my blog but my posts weren't entirely ready either). I was deprived of my computer for over a week. I would sneak some time at work reading my email but I couldn't go to links so I had to wait until the sun came out again (and boy has it come back - it's now hot and humid here) and now I have a lot of past links to look at and catch up on. I also have some posts I need make for my blog so stay tuned.

And now for the June blog hop details:

Now, I get to show you
Cammi in an Apple.

My image, printed on white cardstock, was colored with Bic, Sharpie, and PrismaColor Markers. I cut it out and popped it up like Your Next Step challenge. I made my card following Paper Craft Planet's sketch 052210 and A Gem of a Challenge's color scheme to use Burgundy, Pink and Green. I also have met Whimsical Ink Sorority's challenge to use green and to have a decorative border. I quickly stitched some variegated green thread above Cammi and added a couple of transparent pink flowers that I made darker with some Currant alcohol ink dabbed on one side. Mark's Finest Papers/Speedy the Cat's Challenge is to have an animal. KL Stamping and Scrapping is asking for distressed and torn edges. I tore the edges of the green felt-like paper. I think it's some kind of mulberry paper but it is really thick and heavy so I'm not sure. Totally Gorjuss wants to Bling it Up so I added the glitter glue dots and the tiny glitter flower.

In case you were interested in what Cammi looked like before...here you go.

I think I like the improved image much better, don't you? This card follows Techno stamper's sketch and the color inspiration by Crafty Hos challenge.

Teacher Appreciation Gifts - SMC #15

This week's sponsor is

BUGABOO STAMPS -- JODIE MACKRELL -- OWNER

URL LINK -- http://www.bugaboostamps.com/home.html

STORE LINK -- http://www.bugaboostamps.com/Shop_digistamps.html
This is the teacher appreciation gifts that I made for my sons' teachers a few weeks ago. There's a pen, bookmark and post-it note pad in a coordinating cover. The pink one with a SMC image, is for the kindergarten teacher and the ones below are for the 5th grade teachers (don't remember where I got them). I just hope the teachers got them. So far I've found one of the pens that was suppose to be given to a 5th grade teacher in DS1's room.

Be sure to go to Sew Many Cards Challenge Blog to see what everyone else came up with and be sure to play along.

SMC CHALLENGE # 14

The challenge this week is to make an Easel card. Turns out that it isn't so difficult...esp. if you have Sure Cuts a Lot and a cutting file that's been created (although I think I could do this without the cutting file now that I have read a tutorial and actually made one). I decided that I need to build up my birthday card supply for next school year so I'm going to be making them (and thank you cards) for a while. I used Miki with Cake image and colored him with Prisma markers. I used a dab of Tulip brand gold fabric paint for the candle flame. I inked the edges of my scallops with a blue Cat's Eye pigment ink pad. I also used that same ink pad for the Happy Birthday sentiment inside the card.

Be sure to check out the Sew Many Cards store for an awesome deal for the month of May. I'm planning on it {wink}.

My first blog candy

I've got nearly 50 followers and it's my birthday so I feel like celebrating with a blog candy give away.
I've never purposely participated in the giving of blog candy from other blogs so I'm going to "plagiarize" other peoples' rules since everyone else seems to use the same rules. There must be a reason why they have these rules, so I'm not going to try re-inventing the wheel. LOL
I will have this blog candy run for a couple of months until mid August so this post is going to remain on top until then. Be sure to scroll down to see the "creation du jour"

What you need to do:
1. Become a follower
2. Post my candy on your blog with a link back to this post
3. Leave me a comment on this post with a link to your blog and a way to contact you if you win

I will start posting pictures of what you may win here. As the number of followers increase, the prize amount will also increase.

Edited: I've got flowers, chip board pieces, and ribbons.

CAC sketch 5-5

I went for Color Create's color challenge to use KHAKI, AQUA, BROWN and CREAM. I also went for Scrappy Frogs's challenge to Gloss a Mother's day card (I did Cammi) and Just Us Girls' challenge to make a pocket card (the Cammi tag goes into a pocket) and the tag is for Crafty Catz challenge. I used an adhesive-backed ribbon to create my design/texture (whatever you call it).

Sorry for the blurry photo. I was trying to get a close up of the tag sentiment.

SMC: Christmas in May?????

Tis the Season (NOT!) LOL At Sew Many Cards this week, it is Christmas. I picked Morty with the word JOY for my main image. JOY was colored with Spica Glitter pens (hard to tell but the white is also clear glitter) and Morty with Bic and Sharpie markers. The sentiment is also by SMC. I put it onto a cricut cut tag and used some shear ribbon. The felt flower is by Making Memories and the gold "dots" are clear acrylic disks that I dribbled gold Adirondack alcohol ink on them. I also tried to make the center of the felt flower match the dot. The other pieces of cardstock came from scrap packs and I inked them with Vibrance Green ink. The card was inspired by the sketch provided by Christmas and Birthday cards blog. I'm also submitting it to Dare You to Digi Stamp's Anything Goes challenge.

BlogHop Winner...

Congratulations! Here's the winning comment/post

Tuesday cards

I've colored Eris and his flowers with my Bic markers and the formally clear dew drops with Pearl alcohol ink. The cardstock is all scraps (I sorted thru all of them Sunday so I'm ready to use up some of those other pieces). I cuttlebugged the light green cardstock with a border embossing folder and inked it a tiny bit to help it show up. I used the same ink to stamp 'Thanks' (I used only part of the word Thanksgiving)

Challenges I combined to enter this card in:
All sorts challenge wants animals
Just us girls challenge using their sketch
I love digi challenge make a Thank You card

Now here's my Create-A-Card card

I used a flower from the Oriental Trading Company Black collection, and punched the Dragonflies from Creative Memories paper with my new Creative Memories punch that I bought at my scrapping retreat this weekend.

Challenges this card was created for...
Colour Create : Burnt Orange, Black and Cream (I'm a little darker)
Stampin' Royalty: Use Punches
