Make-N-Takes from Sat fundraising crop

Here's the Make-n-Takes I made at the Fundraising crop I attended on Saturday with some friends.Here's a little card that could be used for gifts. The butterflies were punched with Stampin'Up's punch (I think) but I'm not sure about the border piece since they were pre-punched. The buttons were attached with the tiniest Glue Dot I've ever seen. I may have to search for them.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

And here's a corner bookmark...the base was a square with a triangle cut out (die cut) and the blue triangle was embossed with the Sizzix dots folder.

This is something that is suppose to be able to go into a scrapbook but I'm not sure that I'd trust it to be acid free but it's a nice idea that I might use on a card. It was made with paint chip cards that you can get where paint colors are mixed. Also, I tried out a neat corner edger by Fiskars. It is used exactly like scissors instead of a punch.

This little card was using a Close to my Heart stamp and the technique was how to paper piece. The demonstrator kept the flame on the candle pink, but I cut it off, colored it yellow with my alcohol markers (I hoped to finish my album and have time to color some images but I didn't finish - maybe I would have if I didn't go for these Make N Takes). The flame has a bit of CTMH glass accents (similar to my glossy accents) and it was also used to glut the knotted ribbon.

Sew Many Challenges Blog

I get to show you Donkey with Cart of Hearts. I colored him with my alcohol markers (several brands) then decided that I wanted a different shape beside circle or square so I traced around a hexagon candle that I had here. After cutting it out, I inked the edges with brown. I had found a challenge wanting Cocoa, Gray, and Caramel colors so I hunted up the best that I could find of that. I think the brown and caramel colors look great together. I used my Damask embossing folder again on this, then the brown ink pad again on the raised design. The "ribbon" is a sticker from a heidi swapp tape dispenser.

My card follows several challenges that I wish to enter it in:

Thanks for looking at my card. Now it's time for you to continue on your way to the next person on the blog hop, Suzanne. And don't forget to pick up your Friday Freebie at Sew Many Cards Challenge Blog when you arrive at the end of the hop.

Sew Many Cards Challenge #2

COLOR CHALLENGE
-- USE ONLY THE COLORS PURPLE, WHITE & a splash of BLACK --

I used the new Friday Freebie "Wheelbarrow of Hearts" to create this card. It's colored with several different colored pencils (my standard, go-to coloring utensil): Blueberry, Orchid, Lilac etc. The base is a purple and white plaid from DCWV paper pack. Under the flowers is a strip of white but the flowers seem to hide it. I used a solid piece of black cardstock for the hint of black around the image. The flowers are "Daisy Carzy" by Prima attached with NAIL POLISH!!!! I had the bottle sitting next to me since I had painted my nails the day before and decided that it would make a nice center to the flower. (I think it turned out pretty neat.)

Thanks for looking at my card and be sure to check out the challenge blog at SewManyChallenges.com Sponsor for this week is: COSMO CRICKET www.cosmocricket.com
Challenge Prize: Cosmo Cricket prize package - Jolly by Golly Crafting Kit

PS. The new image released this week is Eris with Heart Bubbles (cute! cute! cute!). This image is in the store and available for 50% until next week when the Sew New Release is out. New releases come out Tuesday so stop by this weekend and get it quick.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
All Sorts Challenges: Hearts & Flowers
Crafty Creations Challenges: Love or Valentines
Corrosive Cards by Janet: use a digi image
Incy Wincy designs:
Use your favourite colouring medium
I Love Digital: use a digi image (it's a design team call, but I'm not trying for a 2nd DT when I love SMC images too much)

Sewn Together Birthday Card & Friday Freebie

SPONSOR FOR CHALLENGE #1...JAN 15 - 21
TERRI OLSEN......OWNER

I started my business in 1993 to give me something to do. I had worked all my life and recently quit to be a stay at home mom to my new baby. I've always been interested in paper products and I didn't like paying full price for some of the things I wanted. So I started my business. I like to pass my savings on to others. I've made some really good friends over the years. I've always been a small business I only advertise word of mouth. Over the years I've kept as busy as I wanted to be. It has been very interesting to see the hobby industry change over the years. I had a "scrapbook" store in my basement before Las Vegas knew what a scrapbook store was. I've dealt with Provo Craft the entire 17 years I've been in business and that has been fun, to watch them change!! The Cricut Messageboard has allowed me to expand my business but still do it "word of mouth". That baby is almost 17 (March) and will be graduating HS in 2011, I will be ready to be busier at that time! She uses my supplies more then I do, I have decided I'm a collector of everything. I have more fun selling and helping others then I do creating. Maybe someday, when times are slower or I'm not being a "Taxi Mom" I can create. Until then, I collect! Right now I have some of the new release Cricut Cartridges for $38 and getting ready to go to Winter CHA to check out some awesome items, including the new releases of Nestabilities! Check out my blog for all my items that I sell and for more information!! http://stampsalive.blogspot.com Prize to be given -- CUTTLEBUGS COMBO FOLDER...DAMASK....$15 value

I have the Damask Cuttlebug folder so I decided to make a card with today's Friday Freebie and that folder.
I used DCWV cardstock and used the Damask folder to emboss the pattern onto the card for my background. Then I used sandpaper to distress the design and make it show up better. Next I colored the heart lock/key with my colored pencils then trimmed it down. I used six-strand embroidery floss to sew the zig-zag on the golden orange card stock strip then stuck it down. I printed the phrase "You hold the key to my heart", cut it into a circle, matted it on black, then used my Accent Essentials glossy to make it shinny (I used too much - it's like an extra thick lumpy epoxy sticker).

There are several challenges that I'm submitting my card to:
Mojo Mondy: Sketch 121
Scrapmaster's Paradise color combo: So Saffron (yellow), Very Vanilla (white), & Orange
Creative Inspiration: Distressing
Creative Card Crew: Distressing
Just Us Girls: Stitching
Digital Tuesday: Embossing
ABC Challenge: Layering
In Style Stamps: Valentine's day card
Charisma Card Challenge: Anything New (I think the new image qualifies)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I needed a Birthday card for my Father in-Law, and since his favorite color is green, I chose to color a green froggy. I colored the frog Avacado green with my Prisma markers. Then I cut him out and glued him onto a circle of blue water. I made the blue by testing out my "new" (slightly used) watercolor crayons that I bought from my friend Lisa who's been purging her craft room (I can't do that - even though I should) by scribbling a couple shades of blue then running a wet finger over the scribbles to smooth it out then cut a circle out. To create my stripes on the card's background, I used my Heidi Swapp ribbon tape. The last thing I did was to take a traditional rubber stamp and use a rainbow pad to stamp CELEBRATE.
Challenges that I'm entering this card in:
All Sorts Challenge: Sketch
2 Red Bananas: Think Round
The Pink Elephant: Birthday
Crazy 4 Challenges: Birthday
PollyCraft Challenge: Winter birthday
Stamp, Scrap and Doodle: Celebrations
Hope you like my card and be sure to join us over at the new Sewn Together Challenge Blog at http://sewmanychallenges.com. Here you can pick up the new Friday Freebies, the new challenges, and other activities.
First 2010 Sewn Together Blog Hop
Welcome to the First 2010 Sewn Together Blog Hop.
Each one of us on the team will be showcasing a project using one of Angela’s new January images!!
So which image am I showing? It’s Hershey Crafting!
First, I colored Hershey with my Crayola color pencils. I chose Mahogany and Brown to make him a chololate colored dog as his name suggests. Next, I cut it out and ran a blue cat’s eye inkpad around the edge. Then, I went looking for some challenges to combine. I found my color inspiration on Color Create and then I saw that I could use Pile it On’s challenge to use a digital image (like that would be a challenge to me LOL). Last week, I was cleaning out a craft storage shelf and found a door hanger template. I decided that this image would be perfect to make a door hanger for my craft room.
I traced the template a little larger than actual size so I could have a border then I traced it actual width but longer to take advantage of a full size of a sheet of cardstock. Then I cut it out by hand. This template would be a great one to make a Sure Cuts a Lot file for (maybe someday). Next, I got my Cuttlebug and my new Daisy folder and embossed the yellow cardstock. I used the Martha Stewart wasabi ink pad to color the daisies green. Then, while cleaning out that shelf, I found a bunch of little rectangles that was the negative space of a fence row. I decided to use them like letter tiles. I colored each edge a different color with my Rubber Stampede ink pads and put one letter of my message on it. Then I ran them thru my xyron sticker maker. (See this post to see xyron in action) Finally, I stuck them down in a “chaotic” style (I don’t know what this really is called – it’s just the name I came up with ) All that ink I used can be applied to Frosted Designs challenge to use ink.
I hope you like what I came up with. If you love this digital stamp of Hershey, remember to leave a comment at the end of my post to be in a drawing for this image. You also have to visit and leave a comment on EVERY design team blog for a chance to win the grand prize package offered by Doodle Bean Stamps. Doodle Bean Stamps is sponsoring our January grand prize package, which will be a $10 Gift Certificate to Doodle Beans Stamps and a $15 Amazon.com Gift Certificate! WOW!!! What a prize! Winner will be announced on the 13th.
Friday Freebie
Here is today's Friday Freebie from Sewn Together...Toga!
I colored Toga with my colored pencils. Then I centered Toga in my Sizzix brand Medallions medium-sized folder and embossed around him then cut it out. I used a dusty pink cats-eye chalk ink pad (it's just called pink but it's a dusty shade of pink to me) to highlight the raised design. I used the coordinating A2 Medallions folder to emboss the red card base. Then I used pink and white Prima Daisy Carzy (that's what it says on the bottom of the tube) Chloe and a gold flower sequin (don't know where I got them). I chose to use a pink ribbon that looks very similar to the ink pad I used near Toga. I used my Glossy Accents to make a raised edge around my sentiment from Jen and to adhere it over the ribbon.
I'm entering this into several challenges. First, I'm entering it into SNR's Digi Day Sweet & Sassy challenge to use Red and Pink. Also, Daring Card Makers wants to see anything that uses the January birthstone color: Garnet (my last name). Then, I used the sketch provided by Delightful Sketches to help me figure out what to do. PaperPlay wanted "Precious Metals" so I added the little gold flowers to my pink and white daisies. Cute Daisy May wants to see Flowers and Ribbons. Then No Time to Stamp and Digital Tuesday Challenge both want Valentine's Day card.
Thanks for looking at my card and remember to sign up for the Sewn Together newsletter using the link on my side bar to get the Friday Freebie images.
